Linking Business with IPv6
The IPv6 Business Council was chartered and formed in October 2004 by the NAv6TF Steering Committee. The purpose of the council was to link what is possible with IPv6, with what is needed by the North American business community. That mission still stands today.
The council is open to a limited number of executives in large North American based 'end user' companies in industries such as Entertainment, Health Care, Finance, Transportation, Manufacturing, and more. It is not designed for, and thus not open to, companies involved in the building or operation of IPv6 products or services. The goal of the council is to determine and develop how best IPv6 can be utilized to help companies in the normal operation of their business in the near future. Areas the council is addressing include (but certainly not limited to), utilizing the new security and privacy features like easier and more cost effective Virtual Private Networks that are inherent in an IPv6 community; new linkages possible with mobility for the extended workplace, the extended use of sensors in a fully integrated supply chain, and the possibilities that exist for customer relationship management in the fully authenticated world of IPv6.
Sincerely,
